The good news is that it doesn't take much to begin using RetentionX. After all your data is imported, we do the number crunching for you and preload your account with all the analytics and insights. However, you can configure several settings and connect your tool stack. Just follow this setup checklist for your first steps:

Please note that most of these steps need to be done by account administrators.
Step 1: Connect your Store
Get your order data syncing to RetentionX.
✔️ Your first task is to integrate your eCommerce platform with RetentionX. To do this, either install our app for Shopify, BigCommerce, Shopware or integrate with your store by setting up a data feed.
✔️ If you have multiple stores for different locations, Multi-Store Plus allows you to manage the data for all stores in one consolidated RetentionX account.
Step 2: Connect your Tool Stack
Integrate your favorite tools to enhance your reporting data and automate your workflows.
✔️ Enhance your reporting by importing data from the tools you use. Centralize all your customer information and get a holistic data set.
- Import your marketing data from Google, Meta, TikTok to evaluate LTV in relation to CAC.
- Enrich your RetentionX account with Google Analytics session data to understand your customers' journeys and marketing effectiveness.
- Connect Recharge to analyze the performance of your subscription business.
- Analyze your Gorgias support ticket data to identify customers by sentiment and re-engage with them effectively.

- Convert your customer segments into ready-to-use, daily updated audiences in Google, Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest.
- Set up email and SMS flows in Klaviyo, Attentive, Mailchimp, or ActiveCampaign based on your customers' behavior.
- Share all relevant customer insights with Zendesk to deliver world-class customer service.
- Feed customer segments back to Shopify to customize the shopping experience for your key customers.
Step 3: Fine-Tune your Data Setup
Refine your data import and mapping to ensure accuracy.
✔️ Set rules to exclude data on import, such as team members or test orders, so that they do not affect your analyses.
✔️ COGS is an important component in calculating your customer's LTV and understanding profitability. Set up rules to configure your COGS.
✔️ Your UTM parameter tracking allows us to analyze the performance of your marketing activities not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively. Make sure all your campaigns include UTM tags.
✔️ Over time, different UTM tags may be used for the same things. Consolidate all source UTM tags by grouping your marketing channels.
✔️ Group unique coupon codes to evaluate the effectiveness of your promotions.
Step 4: Adjust your Preferences
✔️ Add your industry to benchmark your performance against similar brands.
✔️ Review our default gross and net revenue definitions and adjust them as needed.
✔️ Customize how we process your data and visualize reporting in your report settings.
✔️ While RetentionX Core contains everything most brands will need, other brands might require more. Explore our add-ons to add more functionality.
Step 5: Invite your Team
✔️ Invite your colleagues and assign them roles and permissions.
✔️ Enable two-factor authentication for all users of the account to add an additional layer of security.
