Setup Guide

Follow the steps below to connect Claude with RetentionX.

The Claude integration must be enabled by your RetentionX account owner before anyone on your team can connect. If you’re on Claude Team or Enterprise, your Claude account owner also needs to authorize the connection for the entire organization first.

  1. Navigate to  and select Claude by clicking Connect.

  2. Review the data sharing acknowledgement and check both boxes to confirm that you understand RetentionX data is sent to Anthropic and that you are authorized to approve. Once both boxes are checked, click I acknowledge to proceed.

  3. Copy the MCP URL shown on the screen.

  4. Click Open Claude Settings to be redirected to Claude’s connector settings page.

  5. Click + and select Add custom connector.

  6. Name the new connector "RetentionX", paste the MCP URL, and click Add.

  7. Click Connect to authorize Claude.

  8. Click Add Store and save your selection.

  9. Click Authorize Claude.

  10. You’ll be redirected to Claude, where you’ll be asked to grant access to the RetentionX tools. We recommend selecting Always allow. Personal customer data is masked at all times.

That’s it! You can now start your first conversation with Claude.

FAQs

Which Claude plan do I need?

You need Claude Pro, Team, or Enterprise. The free plan does not support custom connectors.

Can I connect multiple stores?

Yes — during authorization, you can select all stores you want Claude to access. You can add or remove stores anytime under Integrations.

Is my customer data safe?

Yes. Claude only accesses aggregated analytics. Personal customer data including names, emails, phone numbers, and addresses is always masked.

My team uses Claude Enterprise — how does this work?

Claude Enterprise admins manage connector access centrally. Ask your account owner to add the RetentionX connector and enable it for your team.

How do I know Claude is using RetentionX data?

Once connected, Claude will automatically draw on your RetentionX data when you ask questions about your store. You can verify the connection is active under in RetentionX.
