Gender is an important demographic information that can be used to individualize your customer communications. However, most brands don't have this information - especially if it's not requested by default.
RetentionX got your back and predicts the gender of your customers.
How it Works
To determine the gender of your customers, two parameters are taken into account: The customer's first name and country. The combination of these parameters is important to reflect local differences.
Both parameters are then matched against large datasets containing individuals whose gender we know with absolute certainty. By matching these data sets, RetentionX provides the following predictions:
- Female: All comparison subjects are female
- Male: All comparison subjects are male
- Likely Female: The majority of comparison subjects are female
- Likely Male: The majority of comparison subjects are female
- Uncertain: Both genders are distributed among the comparison subjects, so that the gender cannot be clearly determined.

Best Practices
The predicted gender allows you to analyze customer behavior by gender and personalize your marketing massaging. To do this, you can easily include the gender information when creating customer segments:
