How to Import Data from Google Ads
After connecting your Google account to RetentionX, you can enrich RetentionX with the following marketing data:
- Conversions
- Ad Spend
- Impressions
- Clicks
- Click-Through-Rate
In the Google Ads settings, click Data Import and follow the setup process:
-
Account Connection
Since you might have access to multiple Google Ads accounts, specify from which ad accounts you want to import the data.
-
Source Mapping
Knowing your best-performing marketing channels and campaigns is critical to reaching the customers you want most. Your UTM parameters are the basis for linking the performance of your marketing efforts to your transactions, as well as to additional marketing information in Google Ads. Therefore, select all UTM source tags that describe Google Ads.
-
Campaign Mapping
The same exercise needs to be done at a campaign level. Map all your UTM campaign parameters to the respective Google campaigns:
- On the left, highlighted in pink, all your imported Google campaigns are listed.
- On the right, highlighted in green, all your UTM campaign tags belonging to the selected UTM source tags in the source mapping are selectable.
- If you have also used UTM parameters to track your already paused and removed campaigns, we recommend performing the campaign mapping for them as well; that way you will have all data in RetentionX.
And that's it! With the next overnight import all your Google Ads details are imported to your RetentionX account. Once the connection is up and running, you will find the Google Ads toggle under 'Connected Tools'.
