Customer segmentation helps you better understand your customers and deliver more personalized experiences. When creating a segment in RetentionX, you can decide whether all reports should be calculated specifically for that group of customers. This turns a regular segment into an analytics segment.
With analytics enabled, RetentionX calculates all reports separately for the segment. This allows you not only to identify customers who meet specific conditions and create audiences, but also to analyze and compare their behavior across all RetentionX reports.
Segment Any Report
Analytics segments allow you to analyze reports for specific customer groups instead of all customers.
Navigate to the report you want to analyze.
By default, the report includes All Customers. Change this selection and choose the segment you want to analyze.
To remove a segment and return to the default view, simply select All Customers again.
Activating analytics for a segment also unlocks the Customer Persona. This provides a data-driven snapshot of the segment’s typical customer and serves as a strong starting point for deeper analysis. You can access the Customer Persona from the segment’s detail page.
Compare Segments With Each Other
Looking at all customers at once shows overall behavior, while analyzing individual segments shows how specific groups behave. Comparing data side by side helps uncover what makes each group unique. Differences between segments often highlight important patterns and lead to more actionable insights. To compare two segments:
Open the compare view by clicking
After that, the report is displayed twice side by side and you can select the appropriate segments.
To deactivate the comparison view, click Exit.
