Creating customer segments in RetentionX is not only easy, but also versatile, allowing you to group customers based on their characteristics and behaviors. While you can create conditions based on patterns, such as customers who have purchased products from a certain category in their first order, sometimes there may be cases where you need to add a list of values to a segment condition.
Don't worry, you can easily add a list of multiple values without having to manually type them in one by one. This is handy when you’re trying to include or exclude a large number of property values from your segment. To do this, copy a list of comma-separated values to your clipboard and paste it into the corresponding field.
For example, if you want to use your customers' email as a property, you can paste the following string instead of adding each value one at a time:
emily@demo.com,jacob@demo.com,sophia@demo.com,ethan@demo.com,mia@demo.com
Let's take a look at how to achieve this:
1. Get your list of values ready, e.g. by exporting
- a list of recipients from Klaviyo
- all products of a collection from Shopify
- all variants of a product from RetentionX
2. Separate the values with commas
- Open your list of values in, for example, Google Sheets or Excel.
- Enter a comma (,) in the column to the right of the values.
- Drag the comma down to the end of the list, or double-click the small box in the lower right corner of the first cell with the comma.
3. Copy and paste the value list
- Once your rows are filled with data and commas, select all the cells.
- Right-click and select 'Copy,' or use the keyboard shortcut (Command+C for Mac, Ctrl+C for Windows).
- Navigate to the segment builder in RetentionX and set your conditions.
- Right-click and select 'Paste', or use the keyboard shortcut (Command+V for Mac, Ctrl+V for Windows).
That's it! Your values will be automatically separated by commas!
