Unique coupon codes are a powerful way to deliver personalized offers while protecting your promotions from abuse. Since each code is created for a specific customer, it can typically be redeemed only once and is automatically marked as used afterward.
To properly evaluate the performance of such campaigns, it’s important to analyze the combined impact of all unique coupon codes that belong to the same promotion, rather than reviewing each code individually.
How to Group Unique Coupon Codes
By default, all coupon codes applied to an order are imported into RetentionX and evaluated individually in the Coupon Codes report.
To group coupon codes that belong to a promotion, follow the steps below:
Navigate to Settings > Company Settings > Data Mapping.
Click New Mapping to group your coupon codes.
Define the coupon code pattern that all codes of the promotion have in common. You can group coupon codes that either start with or contain a specific pattern.
Enter the promotion name under which all matching coupon codes should be grouped.
Click Save to add the mapping. You can create as many coupon code mappings as needed.
Please note that changes to data mappings become visible in your RetentionX account the next day.
Once a mapping is set up, all matching unique coupon codes are evaluated as one promotion. The aggregated performance can then be analyzed in the Coupon Codes report.
