With RetentionX, you can push customer insights and segment information directly into Klaviyo, enriching your contact profiles with powerful, data-driven attributes. This allows you to build highly targeted segments, personalize your messaging, and trigger flows based on real customer behavior—without manual exports or static lists.
All insights synced from RetentionX are added as custom properties in Klaviyo and kept up to date automatically, so your Klaviyo data always reflects the current state of your customers.
How to Sync Properties to Klaviyo
To get started, open Automations → Data Enhancer in RetentionX.
Select Klaviyo and click Set Up.
Select Authorize Klaviyo.
You'll be redirected to Klaviyo. Log in and confirm the permissions required for RetentionX.
Back in RetentionX, select the customer fields you'd like to sync to Klaviyo.
Confirm your selection by clicking Create.
Once the automation is active, RetentionX creates new custom profile properties in your Klaviyo account. Each property matches the corresponding field name in RetentionX and includes the prefix RX_, making RetentionX data easy to identify inside Klaviyo.
By default, RetentionX adds and updates customer data overnight, and you'll find the new properties directly in Klaviyo profiles the next morning. From that point on:
New properties are automatically created when you add additional fields to the enhancer settings
Customer data is recalculated daily, keeping all property values up to date
This ensures that Klaviyo always reflects the current status of your customers, even as their behavior changes over time.
How to Create RX-Based Segments in Klaviyo
After RetentionX's insights are available in Klaviyo, you're now ready to start creating segments based on your RetentionX insights.
To create your segments in Klaviyo based on a RetentionX insights, all you have to do is the following:
In Klaviyo, access Lists & Segments > Create List/Segment > Segment.
Choose the definition Properties about someone.
Select the RetentionX property as the Dimensions field, e.g. RX_segments.
Specify the Dimension Value.
By using RetentionX insights directly inside Klaviyo, you can move beyond basic engagement metrics and segment customers based on long-term value, purchase behavior, and predicted intent.
Monitoring the Klaviyo Data Enhancer
After setup, you can monitor the status of the Klaviyo Profile Enhancer directly in RetentionX. The Klaviyo card shows when the last sync was executed and how many profiles were updated. This gives you clear visibility into whether the automation is active and the scale of updates.
