Effective SMS and email marketing depends on precise timing and relevance. RetentionX enables you to sync customer segment affiliation directly into Attentive, allowing you to create dynamic audiences that adapt automatically as customer behavior evolves.
Rather than managing static lists, your Attentive audiences are built on segment affiliation events sent from RetentionX. These events indicate which RetentionX segments a customer belongs to and can be used to create dynamic audiences that reflect your segmentation logic on a daily basis.
By combining RetentionX's customer intelligence with Attentive’s messaging capabilities, you can deliver more personalized, lifecycle-driven communication while maintaining full control over your targeting and marketing spend.
How to Sync Segment Affiliation to Attentive
To get started, open Automations → Data Enhancer in RetentionX.
Select Attentive and click Set Up.
Select Authorize Attentive.
You'll be redirected to Attentive. Log in and confirm the permissions required for RetentionX.
Back in RetentionX, select the segments you'd like to sync to Attentive.
As you might have access to multiple Attentive accounts, choose the account where the events should be pushed to. The same segment can be pushed across multiple accounts.
Confirm your selection by clicking Create.
How to Create RX-Based Audiences in Attentive
Once the setup is complete, RetentionX sends segment affiliation events to Attentive on a daily basis. By default, these events are pushed overnight and appear in Attentive contact profiles the next morning.
You’ll find the segment affiliation events under Activities in the contact profile. Each event indicates which RetentionX segments a customer belongs to on that day, making the information available for building dynamic audiences and targeting campaigns.
To create an audience just follow these steps:
Navigate to Segments.
Click + Create segment.
Decide for a dynamic segment.
Select A subscriber's activity as condition.
To identify all customers who belong to a RetentionX segment, configure the following condition:
RX- Segment Affiliation > At least once > In the Last > 1 day > where segment is a specific value.Select the RetentionX segment you want to use from the dropdown menu.
Monitoring the Attentive Data Enhancer
After setup, you can monitor the status of the Attentive Profile Enhancer directly in RetentionX. The Attentive card shows when the last sync was executed and how many profiles were updated. This gives you clear visibility into whether the automation is active and the scale of updates.
