The first purchase is a necessary step, but the second order is key to driving long-term value for your brand! On average, only 30% of all buyers ever make a second purchase. Unfortunately, that means you're spending a lot of time and money trying to acquire new customers who may never engage with your brand again. Sounds hard, we know! But the good news is that if you manage to trigger a second purchase, three more will usually follow. In fact, if you manage to retain just 10% more of your customers, you can easily double your sales.
But do you actually know how many of your customers are one-time buyers or how many have bought exactly twice? Let's take a look at your Order Count Distribution!
Definitions
The Order Count Distribution report shows you the breakdown of your customers by the exact number of orders they've placed.
What does it mean? We record for each customer the number of orders placed up to the month under consideration. This allows you to comprehend how your customer base is structured. Up to 5 orders, the order count distribution is considered separately, and from 6 orders on, they are grouped into buckets.
And even better, this report also tracks the development over time. So you can see changes over time and understand if you succeed in increasing the share of 2x+ customers.
How to Get More Details
The development of your order count distribution is shown as a color-coded column chart followed by absolute figures. The running month is highlighted:
