The Setup Process: 5 Simple Steps
The setup process is simple and consists of five steps. Don’t worry—we’ll walk you through each one to ensure everything is set up correctly and runs smoothly.
-
Request Activation
👉 Click here to request the activation of Merchandise Optimization.
Your Account Manager will activate the feature and notify you once you can get started. Therefore, please ensure your email address is correct so we can contact you.
Only account owners and admins can request the activation. -
Connect Google Analytics
To track the performance of your products within your collections, we will enhance your Google Analytics tracking with additional data points. These are used to evaluate the effectiveness of your products relative to their placement, and ultimately to calculate a performance score by which to sort your products.
👉 Connect to your Google Analytics 4 account and select the appropriate property.
-
Authenticate Shopify
Based on individual performance scores, you can enable automatic sorting of your products within your collections. You can turn on the dynamic sorting on a per-collection basis, ensuring that your best-performing products get the visibility they deserve.
👉 Grant us access to modify the product sorting within your Shopify collections.
-
Grant Access
To enhance your Google Analytics tracking, we need to install a snippet to your Shopify theme that will feed additional data, such as product impressions and clicks, to your GA account. This snippet will not affect the performance of your storefront, as all data is pushed asynchronously.
👉 Give us access to your Shopify theme so we can install the tracking snippet.
-
Install Tracking Snippet
In the final step, we'll install the tracking snippet into your Shopify theme. Once that's done, we'll start tracking the performance of your collections and products.
Multi-Store Setup
If you have activated our Multi-Store Plus add-on, you'll additionally need to select the store you'd like to begin the setup process with. Of course, you can set up the functionality for all of your stores - just one by one.
Learning Phase
Once setup is complete, we'll begin a 7-day learning period to gather enough data to measure the performance of your products within collections. Once the learning phase is over (you'll be notified), you can turn on dynamic sorting for your collections.
